Hi everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! We had a productive one around here. We got a lot done around the house and even got to the gym! I only ran a few miles but stayed active all weekend. I am still in my Holiday Challenge so at least I feel somewhat accountable to the group for meeting my weekly goals.
I have to say that this challenge is not as exciting for me because it includes all kinds of exercises and I have to make the goals each week for what I will do each day. That part I am sure is good for me but I think I like it better when it is simple like, "Run a mile every day from Thanksgiving to New Year's." That way I don't have to think about it during this busy time, I just do it and if I feel like it and have more time then I run more. I know it is good to mix it up but again, I like simple during the holidays. This week I am going to make my goal 3 miles or 30 minutes every day this week. I have been trying to make it too complicated with weight training, cycling, etc. The thing is, I am going to do that stuff anyway for the most part but I hate if miss it and don't meet my goal!!
I hope you are all keeping active this week. This is the time of year that it is so easy to put on extra pounds because of some of the most wonderful treats ever being available. I love all the goodies and flavors that come out this time of year!! I love so many wonderful pumpkin things, peppermint mochas, peppermint pretzels (these are from Costco and are to die for), and alll other kinds of delicious treats!! I have already made my Chex Mix for the season and the punch that goes with it!!!
In case I do not get a chance to write again this week I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I know I say this a lot but it is always a good time to reflect on what you are thankful for in your life, but especially this week and this Thursday. We don't want it to only be about the food!!!
So I challenge you to run at least once this week, maybe a Turkey Trot and to think of one thing you are thankful for every day this week! I am thankful that I am healthy enough to run every day if I so choose!!
Happy Running and Happy Thanksgiving!
Kristi
