Hi friends! I have taken a rather long break from running, and from posting! I am finally getting back to running. I will say that I don't think I will take a break from running during the holidays again!! That is not a good recipe for keeping holiday weight off!
This will just be a quick post to share some pictures of some running and hiking I did while in Tennessee recently. I spent a little over a week in Tennessee just enjoying the beauty and peacefulness and visiting friends and family. It was a great trip.
I stayed in East Tennessee for a week and I was very close to the Appalachian Trail so during my lunch break (I have a new job that is all virtual, yay!!) I got in a 4.5 mile trail run. I was loving how quiet and peaceful it was until a friend started telling me how he has several friends who were attacked or robbed on the trail!!! I guess I won't be doing that by myself again! Note to self, take my pit bull Frankie with me next time! :) It was really nice though. Here are a few pictures from that run.
Next I headed to Fall Creek Falls. I stayed in a cute little cabin near the park. My friend Ginger met me up there with her dog Oliver (Ollie) and we went for a hike Saturday and Sunday. It was really cold on Sunday but no one, seriously no one, was on the trail that day. Even with all the leaves off the trees it was beautiful! We had lunch in the newly renovated restaurant at the Lodge that overlooks the lake. It was beautiful and yummy!!
Here are a few pictures from our hike.
Isn't it beautiful? Chris and I are looking for a small place to buy to get away from it all every now and then. :) You can probably see why I love Tennessee!
I went to Nashville to stay with Ginger after Fall Creek Falls. We went out for a luxurious Valentine's dinner at Restoration Hardware. Yes, you read that right...they made a restaurant right in the middle of the store. It was fabulous!
It felt great to be running again. I am not fast, but I am doing it at least. I was actually sore the next day!!! What??!!
I am trying to figure out if I want to race this year. I am sure I will want to, but I haven't decided on a race yet.
I hope you are all doing well.
One last thing before I go today...I have taken the page off my website that links to my coaching programs for now. I am very busy with other work so I am not taking many clients, except those I know from the coaching them in the past. If this changes I will let you know, but for now, I am only taking clients on a past client basis, or word of mouth basis.
Have a great rest of the week. It's good to be back in the running world! I am looking forward to getting back to swimming and biking when it warms up a bit!!
