Happy Thursday everyone! I hope everyone had a great holiday season. Even though I love the build up to Christmas and Christmas itself, when it is over, it is over for me. I have all my trees and decorations boxed back up for next year. I have done my after Christmas shopping for next year also. If you have patience (which surprisingly for this I do) then you can wait until after Christmas to get any presents that you want because so many things are major sale. I got some outfits at ridiculous prices and I got a lot of things for next Christmas as well.
Anyway, on to today's post. I don't have too much to write about today so it will be a quick read. I have been getting in some really good workouts lately which is a good thing since I got in some really good food over the holidays!
Yesterday I did this kind of crazy workout that I made up that was 2 hours without stopping. I figure it will help with my upcoming race. It went something like this:
Run 10 min, stair climb (up actual steps) x 5 min, combo of exercises x 5 min (I made 3 different combos up with burpees, jump squats, step ups, lunges, jump rope, etc) then I would repeat this cycle over and over for 2 hours. By the last stair climb I was crawling. I was pretty sore the next day but it was a good sore, where you know you did some good!!
Over the weekend I went on a trail run in Niwot. It is one of my favorites because the view is spectacular. Here are a few pics from that run:
Well, Kristie and I are heading into our last 5 races! I can't believe we are almost done. We will head to Carlsbad, California Friday the 17th and run the Double Down Challenge. We will run a 5k then right after that we will run the half marathon!! I am not really sure how I am going to do this, willpower and a miracle I suppose! In February we head to Orlando for our last 3 races on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd.
I am going to be working on some sort of schedule for the blog for this year and thinking through some topics so if you have any suggestions feel free to either email me or put it in the comments.
I have been reading a few of the quotes I have saved on Pinterest lately so I thought I might put a few here for you to enjoy.
Well, that does it for today. I hope you have had a great week so far. Here's to a weekend of hard, purposeful, and effective runs!!
