Happy Weekend!

Updated: Feb 5, 2019

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a good start. We got back Monday from our quick trip to Atlanta to pick up my brother's truck. We are buying it from him. I have to say that I hope I don't have to make this drive anymore. I have made the drive from TN and GA several times now and I am happy to be able to fly from now on!! It seems like Kansas is sooooo boring to drive through. It was nice to have the one on one time with my hubby and the truck is incredibly comfortable, but still, Kansas is boring. We did see a beautiful sunset our first night of driving.

Here are a few pictures from our trip.

Chris and I got back around lunchtime Monday and the first thing we did was change into running clothes and head out the door. All that sitting about killed us so we were very ready to get running again!!

We have been doing a few interval workouts this week and I gotta tell you they have been pretty hard!! We have got to get somewhat ready for Vegas but neither of us really feel like doing a long run. We are going to try to do 8 in the morning but we just don't have great motivation for it lately!! The shorter interval workouts are actually quite fun. They are hard, but fun!! The one I did yesterday was a 4 minute hard run followed by a 2 minute jog/walk and you repeat that 5 times for a 30 minute workout. Of course you warm up and cool down as well. If you have a favorite interval workout let me know, I love to try different ones!!

I am also trying to gain some strength and get a little more cut. I feel like I look too soft lately and need to get some muscle tone! I did an arm workout I saw on PopSugar.com twice this week. It was: burpees, bicep curls into overhead press, push ups, planks walk outs; upright rows and skull crushers for triceps; you do 10-12 of each exercise without taking any breaks and you repeat the whole thing 4 times in a row. It is a good workout if you don't have much time.

Today I am waiting on my Halloween costume to get here, hopefully before I go to my brother in law's for his annual pig roast. I am going to be Mrs. Incredible. Hopefully it comes soon!!

I guess I better get going for now but before I go I wanted to share something I read from 6 Minute Mile which is a website I subscribe to by email. They give you 6 "minutes" of running news each week. This week they had something about Hyland's (a company that has pain meds, meds for cold, etc (over the counter) recruiting a team for the Boston Marathon next April. You can check it out here.

They are looking for healers and physical therapists were on the list. I applied. How exciting would that be??? I might not even get a look because you have to answer things about why you are amazing and I have a hard time answering something like that because it feels too much like bragging. Anyway, I did apply and I would really love to get it so I hope you will all send good vibes my way for it!! I find out December 17th.

Oh, I almost forgot, I go to Harry Potter World on Halloween!!! I can't wait!!

Have a great weekend!!

Happy Running!

Kristi
