Holiday Running

Hi everyone! I just wanted to send out a really quick post to let everyone know about starting up a running challenge for the holidays again.

I don't know if anyone is dressing up for Halloween but I am of course. In fact I think I will dress up today and tomorrow with 2 different costumes because you know I like wearing costumes!!! I will post some pictures. I am going to be Beetlejuice and my friend Sandra is going to be Lydia. I hope you get to do something fun for Halloween even though Covid has sucked the joy out of life!! Ok, maybe not all of the joy.

Before I start, here are a few past Halloween pictures for fun.

Now...down to business.

My friend Karen (ha ha) and I are starting November 1st again and we will do 1 mile every day until December 1st and then we will decide if we are going to bump it to 2 miles every day.

Here is a picture of Karen a few Halloweens ago, just for laughs!

I know that 1 mile a day sounds so easy but you would be amazed how easy it is to forget that you haven't done it for the day and it is 10:00 at night and you are running a mile in your pajamas!

Of course, you can always do more than 1 mile and we do, but you have to do at least 1 mile.

If you are not a runner and you want to walk a mile each day that is great too. We figure it is a small way to keep some holiday pounds away. I have to make myself do some sort of challenge because as you all know...I LOVE all the goodies that come out this time of year, and I have a hard time backing down from a challenge. Or I guess I should say, I have a hard time not accepting a challenge. Which, of course, is how I got myself into this field goal kick dilemma. As a side note...I am not doing that great on kicking. I didn't get out to do it because of all the smoke and now my backyard is filled with snow. So, hopefully back at it next week. I am getting a little nervous that I am going to end up with a Dallas Cowboys tattoo. NOOOOOOOOO!!

Okay, back to the topic at hand...running off pumpkin spice lattes....If you want to join us then let me know and I will create an email group to send us out some motivation along the way.

Okay, that is it for today. Have a Happy Halloween!

Happy Running!

Kristi
